In 1788, Burns wrote a poem to his Edinburgh paramour, Clarinda, to accompany the gift of two wine glasses. The poem ends with a toast, 'To thee and me, love!' and it is these words that are etched around this ring - in a facsimilie of Burns' own handwriting.
